Made With Love

Hello everyone!! I recently bought some goodies from Create and Craft. You might have seen the embossing powders and the Inkadinkado stamps in my post this week here. I also bought a Heartfelt Creations stamp - The Heartthrob set. I also won the blog candy at Simon Says Stamp and I got a stamp set among other goodies :)

I stamped the Heartfelt Creations - Heartthrob stamp with black ink and colored it with my markers. I cut out 3 circles from different part of the image - This was inspired by the Power Poppy Stamps Challenge.

I used grey card base and used a white layer on it. I stamped the sentiment 'The best things in life are made with love' from Simon Says Stamp - Labelled with Love stamp set. I used Studio G grey ink for that.

I used silver sheer ribbon to make a triple bow and adhered it on the white layer with a strip of the ribbon. I used a comb to help me with the bow.

I used Hero Arts Silver ink to color a panel of white cardstock and adhered the circle cutouts of the image on to it. I then layered it on top of the white panel. I love the colors in this card.

Thanks for stopping by. Do leave your thoughts and comments. I enjoy reading them. Thanks for all the lovely comments on my GIU posts. Made my day!! And do visit my blog tomorrow. There are a creations waiting for you!

GIU Day 5 - Beautiful Little Things

Hello everyone!! Welcome to day 5 of my Growing in Unity week. Can't believe it's the end of the week already!!

Here's what I made for today:

I went for a distressed look on this one. That's quite new to me. I stamped the flower from Unity Stamps Best Things just happen set repeatedly along the border with VersaMagic Pink Petunia chalk ink. Then I sponged the panel with DI Tattered rose around the border, leaving the center of the panel. I stamped the sentiment from Unity Stamps Beautiful every little thing set with Pink Petunia chalk ink. I inked a piece of ribbon with Tattered rose and made a bow with it and added it to the card.

Thanks for stopping by. Thanks for all your comments. I will announce the 5 winners on Monday!! Hope you enjoyed my posts.

Christmas Cardinal

Hello everyone! A quick post to show a card that I made today. I thought of this card design yesterday night and I couldn't rest until I made it :)

Here's the card:

Those of you who follow me on Instagram would have probably seen another version of this cardinal that I had colored. For those of you, who haven't seen it already, this is from Our Daily Bread Designs Cardinal single stamp. Well, today I looked up on Google and only then did I realize that a part of the cardinal's face is actually black!! So I had to color it again. I colored the cardinal and removed all the pine cones and needles (I wanted to give the cardinal my own setting, which I was thinking about from yesterday night!! And I woke up very early today to make it happen!!)

The pine leaves are Inkadinkado - Branches Cling Stamps. This is one of my latest hauls from Create and Craft. I embossed it with Stampendous Jade Pearl embossing powder. The color and shine is amazing!! I bought it as a kit with 5 colors. For the branches (the brown part) I used clear bark embossing powder from the same kit.

I hope this picture gives a better idea of the shine. The sentiment is from Sweet n Sassy - Christmas Penguins set. It is embossed with the same clear bark (brown) powder. The bottom panel is actually a repurposed wedding invitation. It has a bit of mild glittery shine. I embossed the lines with my score board. I felt the card needed a bit more of red (Any excuse to add some sequins lol!!). So I added a few red sequins from my stash.

The layout of this card was inspired by Kristina Werner's holiday card. She's a genius!! If you do not follow her yet, I suggest you to check out her Youtube channel!

Thanks for stopping by. Please leave your thoughts and suggestions! They are greatly appreciated.Thank you so much for all the wonderful comments you have left on my GIU posts. GIU Day 4 - Blessed Christmas

Hello everyone!! Welcome to day 4 of my Growing in Unity week. This week, till Friday, I will be sharing projects that I made with Unity Stamps.

For today's project I used a non-holiday stamp for a Christmas card. When I thought of this idea, I was jumping with joy. It makes me extremely happy to stretch my stamps and use them for something they are not intended to. Here is the card:

Does this stamp look familiar? Yes! It is from the Vintage floral bicycle from Simple Peace, Love, Happy stamp set that I used yesterday. I used only the wheel part of the bicycle and embossed it with gold embossing powder. I used my embossing pen to draw a circle around it and the holder on which the ornament is attached. I embossed all these with gold embossing powder. I then colored them using my markers. I used golden color thread to 'hang' these ornaments.

The sentiment, from Unity Stamps' Unto us stamp set, is also heat embossed with gold powder. I used red card base for this card. I masked off a thin strip on the left and applied versamark ink in a thin strip and heat embossed it with gold embossing powder. Then I adhered the white panel onto the card base.

How do you like this card? Please let me know in the comments.

Thanks for stopping by. Do visit me every day this week, and leave your thoughts and comments. I will pick 2 winners at the end of this week and they will win 25 random stamps from Unity!! I will pick another 3 winners and they will receive some Unity stamps from me. How awesome is that!! See you tomorrow with another new and exciting project.

I love craft challenges and there are many which I consider to be a little higher than my standard. My goal is to create a project that will get selected in one of these challenges :D Runaway Inspired Challenge is one of them. The inspiration pic was so beautiful that I couldn't not make a card for it!! It was a lacy bridal dress and here's what I made for it:

Here's the inspiration pic:

I was inspired by the lace and the fact that it was bridal. I stamped and embossed the ODBD Crocheted Lace background stamp with white embossing powder on vellum. I adhered it on light grey cardstock.

I stamped, embossed and fuzzy cut the roses and leaves from the Winnie & Walter - The Big, the Bold and the extras set on vellum.  These are one of my favorite flower stamps in my stash. Since the inspiration was bridal, I couldn't stop myself from adding a bouquet of vellum flowers :)

The sentiment and the frame, from JustRite Stamps' Happy Ever After Antique Labels stamps set are stamped and embossed with white on vellum. I fuzzy cut it and sponged the backside with grey ink, so that it will be more visible.

So what are your thoughts on this?

GIU Day 3 - Strength, Love & Beauty

Hello everyone!! Welcome to day 3 of my Growing in Unity week. This week, till Friday, I will be sharing projects that I made with Unity Stamps. Here's what I made for today.

I love this image of the vintage floral bicycle from the Unity Stamps SIMPLE PEACE, LOVE, HAPPY set. I thought it was beautiful for a pink themed card. I stamped it using the VersaMagic Pink Petunia chalk ink.

The sentiment Strength, love & beauty is from the Unity Stamps Everything resides in Hope set. It is perfect for this card!

The flowers are handmade. The leaves are a cut file from Bird's cards. The butterfly is cut using MS Butterfly punch. I added a few pearls to the butterfly and few rhinestones on the panel.

Thanks for stopping by. Do visit me every day this week, and leave your thoughts and comments. I will pick 2 winners at the end of this week and they will win 25 random stamps from Unity!! How awesome is that!! See you tomorrow with another new and exciting project.

EDIT: I've decided to give away additional 3 packs each with some Unity stamps. So I will be picking 5 winners in total.

GIU Day 2 - Hope Blooms

Hello everyone!! Welcome to day 2 of my Growing in Unity!! This week, till Friday, I will be sharing projects that I made with Unity Stamps. Let's get on to the project for today.

October is the Breast Cancer Awareness month. So I thought it would be appropriate to make few cards in pink. Here's one for today:

The image is from Unity Stamps' Happiness looks gorgeous stamp set on a piece of kraft paper that I recycled from the grocery bag. I stamped it with VersaMagic white chalk ink and colored with markers and glitter pens. The sentiment, from Unity Stamps' Petal Whimsy {Where Flowers Bloom} stamp set is also stamped with white chalk ink. I didn't have any dark pink cardstock. So I colored the edge of a white card stock with the same marker I used to color the flowers and used it to mat the kraft paper. I used dark pink/magenta glitter tape on the pink card base and adhered the panel at an angle to add more interest. I used my regular hole punch to punch out small circles from the glitter tape and covered it with glossy accent. I'm kind of getting hooked to glossy accent. I seem to use it more often!

I will admit that this card did not turn out the way I had thought, but anyway thought of sharing it so that you can help me in understanding the mistakes that I did and what I could have done better.

Thanks for stopping by. Do visit me every day this week, and leave your thoughts and comments. I will pick 2 winners at the end of this week and they will win 25 random stamps from Unity!! How awesome is that!! See you tomorrow with another new and exciting project.

GIU Day1 - Blessed Christmas

Hello everyone!! Welcome to my blog. I'm so excited to be Growing In Unity this week. I will be sharing projects that I made with Unity Stamps, from Monday to Friday. Let's get on to the project for today.

I made a simple Christmas card using one non-holiday stamp from Unity. It makes me happy to stretch my stamps beyond their intended use. Here's my card:

As soon I as I saw this swirl stamp from Unity stamps' Growing in Unity stamp set, I thought of winter and snow!! Also, this is the time for making Christmas cards right? So I went right ahead and made this card. The colors are not the traditional Christmas colors, but I loved this combination after I made my other Christmas card which you can see here.

I sponged a piece of white cardstock with DI Tumbled glass. Then I heat embossed the swirl stamp with Zing silver embossing powder. I cut the cardstock into 2 in a diagonal way. I matted this layer with another cardstock, slightly bigger than this and embossed it's ends with the same silver embossing powder. The sentiment, from Unity Stamps' Unto us stamp set, is also embossed with the same silver powder on the brown card base. To add some dimension, I adhered the inked panels with foam tape. I punched a snowflake using the MS Sonwflake punch and embossed it with the same silver embossing powder. Finally, I added a few blue gems from my stash.

So how do you like this card? Do visit me every day this week, and leave your thoughts and comments. I will pick 2 winners at the end of this week and they will win 25 random stamps from Unity!! How awesome is that!! See you tomorrow with another new and exciting project.

Snowflakes and Baubles

Hello everyone!! I'm here to share a Christmas card that I made today. I recently won one of the ODBD SLC's and I got my stamps this week.  Those of you following me on Instagram would have seen the pic of the cardinal that I colored immediately (as soon as the mail arrived, I opened the package and inked the stamp!!! seriously!!). I've used the other stamp set, a set of snowflakes in this card and this is inspired by their current challenge too.

Here's my card.

I sponged a piece of white cardstock with DI Tumbled glass. There are 3 different snowflakes in the ODBD Snowflake Mini set. I used Hero Arts Shadow ink - Silver for one of the snowflake with flourishes. I embossed the other 2 snowflakes - one with clear embossing powder and the other with white. I tried to stamp with white chalk ink, but it was not visible as the background was light.

The baubles are from Joanna Sheen Make A Wish stamp set. I embossed them with silver embossing powder and colored them with my markers and fuzzy cut them. I used silver thread to hang them.

The sentiment is from Sweet n Sassy stamps Christmas Penguins set. I heat embossed it with Zing silver embossing powder. I layered it with a panel on which I used my border punch to create a fancy look. I added a few rhinestones from my stash.

What do you think of this card? Your comments are appreciated!
I used baby powder before embossing. That worked good for reducing the static.
The weather here is getting colder and that means shorter days, which implies less time for taking better photos. How do take your photos?

Sun

Hello everyone!! It's time for new inspiration at the Unstampabelles. Our current theme is 'Sun' and the twist is to add gold.
Here's what I made to inspire you.

I took a piece of white cardstock and masked off a circle. I sponged DI scattered straw and squeezed lemonade on the upper part and bundled sage for the lower part. Then I removed the mask and sponged some Tsukineko White chalk ink to add a halo effect. I drew the flowers on white cardstock and fuzzy cut them and colored them with DI dried marigold and ripe persimmon. I added gold glitter glue for the center. I cut strips of paper for the stem.

This is a pretty simple card. I hope this inspires you to join in our current challenge. The theme might sound a little difficult at first, but then given some thought, there are pretty easy ways to make cards for this challenge. But please remember not to use any stamps.

Thanks for stopping by. Please let me know your thoughts and comments.

Feliz Navidad

Hello everyone!! I'm here to share another Christmas card that I made yesterday.

I sponged DI Tumbled glass on a piece of white cardstock. Then I stamped the pine cone repeatedly. I inked the stamp using my brown marker. The pine cone stamp is from the Joanna Sheen's Make a Wish stamp set. I also added a few dots with my silver glitter pen.

The sentiment is from the Sweet n Sassy Stamps - Christmas Penguins Clear Stamp Set. I embossed it with silver embossing powder.

I colored 2 thin strips of white cardstock with the same silver glitter pen that I used earlier. I used the strips on either sides of the card. I love this color combination and I think it's perfect for Christmas, though it's not a very traditional one.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you liked my card. Please leave your thoughts and comments.

Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas

Hello everyone!! It's Fall already and time to get started on Christmas cards.

I'm very much addicted to gold embossing for now, and how can I not use gold in a Christmas card!! This is one of my favorite stamps for Christmas. Both the bauble and the holly bough with poinsettia are from Joanna Sheen's Make A Wish stamp set. I heat embossed them with Hero Arts gold embossing powder and colored them with markers.

I love how the bauble has turned out. The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps' Christmas mini gift tags set. It is actually a small oval shaped tag with a few snowflakes. I wanted to stamp only the sentiment. So I masked the remaining portion of the stamp with pieces of masking tape.

This year I thought of sending some cards for the Caring Hearts Card Drive. The purpose of this card drive started by Vera Yates, is to collect holiday cards for the elderly living in nursing homes. You can read more about it here in Vera Yates' blog post or here in Jennifer McGuire's post.

Hello Stenciling

Hello everyone! It's time for a new challenge at Where The Heart Is. This will be our second challenge and our theme is to use stencil. You can submit anything made by you which uses stencil. We are sponsored by Sassy Studio Designs and Bugaboo.

Here's what I made to inspire you:

I used a stencil that I had bought from Itsy Bitsy in India. This is my first successful attempt with texture paste. I watercolored the background with DI Evergreen bough and Tumbled glass. I cut the sentiment on the Cricut Explore. I used glossy accent on it. I embossed a strip of paper with silver embossing powder and added it to bring a bit of sparkle. I also added a few silver sequins to go with the strip.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you will join us in the current challenge.

Gold Embossing on Texture Paste

Hello everyone!! Hope you all had a good crafty time yesterday, the world card making day. I was able to make one card.

I recently bought some texture paste, but was a little hesitant to start using it. But believe me, once I started, there's no stopping. The first 2 times were not as good. I did not secure the card and the stencil well enough. This is my second successful attempt. I've seen Jennifer McGuire's video of using embossing powder on texture paste. I thought of giving it a try. I love it!! I then watercolored it. Again, that was inspired by Jennifer McGuire's video here. I embossed two strips of paper with the same gold powder, so that it matches well.

The sentiment is an SVG file from Bird's cards. I used glossy accent on it.

I wanted to share my crafty space with you all. Here are a few pics of it. I store my stuff in Sterlite carts. I took this pic just after I cleaned my table. Believe me, it's not this clean always :). But I do try to keep it clean otherwise,  my daughter pulls up everything and starts using it ;)
