Shaker Ornament

Hello everyone!! I've been quiet for a few days. Life got busy and so I had to take some time. I'm here to share a shaker card that I made recently.

I had this thought on my mind for a long time - to make a card with a shaker ornament that hangs from a pine branch. But was little hesitant to try it - the shaker part was a little bit intimidating!! But after seeing one of the Blitsy live sessions, I went ahead and gave it a try (I don't have a fuse tool. I used the old school method).

I stamped the pine branches from the Inkadinkado branches set and embossed it with Stampendous Jade Pearl embossing powder and the brown part with Clear bark embossing powder. I stamped the ornament from Joanna Sheen Make A Wish set on the cardstock and embossed the holder with gold embossing powder. I cut out the ball part of the ornament. I stamped the ornament on a piece of acetate (I recycled a piece of package) and embossed it with gold embossing powder. I used tiny pieces of foam tape around the ornament and added brown, gold and green sequins inside.

The sentiment is from Sweet n Sassy - Christmas Penguins Clear Stamp Set and I embossed it with the Clear bark embossing powder from Stampenduous.

This is one of the cards for the Caring Hearts card drive.

Cattails

Hello everyone!! It's time for a new challenge here at Word Art Wednesday. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving day here in the US. This week's verse fits perfectly for singing thanks to the Lord, who has been good to us always!!

I printed the word art on white paper and inked it with DI Scattered straw and Dried Marigold. Then I stamped Our Daily Bread Designs - Cattails stamp and the butterfly from Our Daily Bread Designs - Butterfly and Bugs stamp set using brown markers. The frame is cut with my Cricut using a cut file from Inspired by Stamping. It is a stitched rounded rectangle frame. I was inspired by Tracey's card at the MUSE challenge.

Thanks for stopping by. Please visit the Word Art Wednesday blog for more inspiration and for more insight into today's verse. It's not to be missed!!

Poinsettia Bouquet

Hello everyone!! Hope you are having a beautiful day!! First of all, I want to thank you all for the wonderful comments that you've been leaving on my blog posts. Though I'm not able to reply to them as I used to, I read through each one of them and they make me smile!! It makes my day!!

With that feeling of gratitude and satisfaction, let me show you my card for today. It's another Christmas card that I made using Winnie & Walter's In Bloom: Hollie's Festive Florals.

I stamped the Poinsettia outline alone from the Winnie & Walter stamp set, twice for each flower (six in total) and colored it with markers. Then I fuzzy cut the top layer of the poinsettia from one flower (3 in total). I stamped and gold embossed the flower center stamp in the center and layered this fuzzy cut top layer piece on top of the wholeflower fuzzy cut piece. Did I make any sense? If you have any doubts, please let me know. I will try to explain it a bit more.

I stamped the one of the branches from the Winnie & Walter stamp set and I used 2 other branches from the Inkadinkado Branches stamp set. I stamped the tag from Whimsy Stamps Mini Christmas Gift Tags and embossed it with gold powder. I decided I wanted to do a frame around this bouquet. So I cut a frame using my paper trimmer and embossed it with gold powder.

What do you think about this card? Thanks for stopping by and please let me know your thoughts. This is one of the cards for Caring Hearts Card Drive.

Poinsettia And Pines

Hello everyone!! Here's another Christmas card that I  made recently. While making these cards, I realized that I love to make my own pattern papers using various stamps. You can see all my Christmas cards and projects by clicking on the tab above.

Here's my card:

I stamped the poinsettias (big and small) from Joanna Sheen's Make a Wish stamp set and the pine branches from the Inkadinkado Branches stamp set. I used my gold gel pen to add a few dots to fill in spaces. I used the Hero Arts Royal Red and Forever Green inks for stamping them. I really love this color combination on the ivory card stock. Then I cut it into two pieces - in a slanting line. I used two thin strips of card stock which I embossed with gold embossing powder, as a border. The sentiment is from Unity Stamps' Unto us stamp set. I embossed it with gold embossing powder. The poinsettia is handmade (similar to the one in my previous post). I used my flower punch to cut the layers. I used tiny green rhinestones for more interest.

This is one of the cards for Caring Hearts Card Drive.

Poinsettia Bouquet

Hello everyone!! It's time for the final week inspiration at the Unstampabelles. Our theme this month is Anything Goes with a twist to add flowers.

Here's what I made to inspire you:

The poinsettias are handmade. I used my punches and colored them with markers. I also drew the veins (The red part of the poinsettias are actually leaves that change color and the yellow part in the center are the actual flower bunches). For the golden beads on the center, I used some microbeads that I bought from the nail art section of Dollar Tree. I The leaves are cut using the MS pine branch punch. I added pearls to look like berry sprays. I also made a bow from red sheer ribbon for a final finishing look to this bouquet. I use combs to help me with tying the bow.

Please visit the Unstampabelles blog for more inspiration. And please remember not to use any stamps!!

Silver Tree

Hello everyone!! It's time for a new challenge here at Fairy Tales Challenge. Our new theme for this challenge is to make Christmas projects without red and green.

Here's what I've made to inspire you:

Many of us have memories of Christmas cards from our childhood. I remember a particular Christmas card from when I was a small kid (early 90's), that was dark navy blue and it had a snow scene in silver holographic foil. I loved that card and color scheme. So I decided to make one with the same combination.

The swirly tree is a die cut using  a file from Bird's cards. I embossed it with Zing silver embossing powder. The sentiment is from Unity Stamps - Unto us stamp set. I embossed it with the same silver embossing powder.

Give Thanks unto the Lord

Hello everyone!! It's time for a new challenge at Word Art Wednesday. Our free word art this week is the verse from I Chronicles 16:34, which says
"O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever."
I think this verse is perfect for this week, as many of us prepare for Thanksgiving. God has been and is always good to me.

Here's what I made to inspire you:

I printed out the word art on white paper. I used the stamp from Power Poppy Azalea stamp set and stamped all around the word art and I colored it using my marker. I love the color combination. I used black card base. I thought of adding a few pearls/rhinestones, but it didn't look so good. Hmm!! Strange, isn't it? Lol!! So I removed it.

Thanks for stopping by. Do visit the Word Art Wednesday blog for more crafty inspiration and spiritual insight on this verse. Karen always includes a wonderful insight on the verse of the week, every week. Please leave your thoughts and comments below.

Christmas Pines

Hello everyone!! It's time for mid-month inspiration at Where the Heart is. Our theme this month is Winter Blues. Here's what I made to inspire you:

I inked a piece of white card stock with DI Tumbled glass and Evergreen bough (on the edges). I stamped the pine leaves from Inkadinkado Branches stamp set with Hero Arts Forever Green ink. The pine cones are from Joanna Sheen Make A Wish set, which I inked using markers.

I used my correction pen to add dots of snow. The sentiment is from Sweet n Sassy stamps Christmas Penguins set.

Bountifulness

Hello everyone!! It's time for a new challenge at Word Art Wednesday and this week we have an awesome Scripture to inspire you. This week's verse is taken from II Corinthians 9:11. God has given us things in plenty, so that we can be generous and share them with others that don't have them. Do visit the Word Art Wednesday blog for a deep insight on this verse. I'm sure this will be a reminder for many of us to be more generous.

Here's what I made with this week's word art.

This is a pretty clean and simple card. I  used a die cut oval frame (cut using Cricut) from my stash. The flowers are handmade. I used 2 different punches to cut the petals. The pearls in the center are from Dollar tree (This week, I found that they have pearls of various sizes in a single pack. I've never seen them before in DT). The pine leaves are cut using my MS pine branch punch.

I used my MS scoring board to create the pattern on the background. I added a few pearls (same pack from DT) to accent the pattern. The corner swirl is a stamp on the Justrite Happy Ever After Antique Labels stamp set. I stamped it with Hero Arts Lemon yellow ink.

Penguin Gift

Hello everyone!! I'm here to share a winter themed card that I made. Sweet n Sassy stamps is celebrating their birthday and I made this card to take part in their happiness.

Here's my card:

I used the Penguin stamp set from Sweet n Sassy Penguin Christmas stamp set. I have this stamp for more than a year now. Though I've used all the sentiments in the set, I have never used the 3 images with penguins, for fear of coloring them. Finally I mustered up courage and inked them up this weekend and colored them with my markets. I'm quite satisfied with the outcome.

I added some glitter glue for the fur on the cap. I added a red sheer ribbon ( bought from Dollar Tree) with a triple bow. I then mounted it on red card base.

This image and the sentiment can be used on many occasion during winter.

Pink Poinsettia

Hello everyone!! It's time for new inspiration for our current challenge at the Unstampabelles. Our current them is Anything goes with a twist to add flowers. Like I mentioned in my earlier post, I'm in the mode of making Christmas cards for the Caring Hearts Card drive :)

Here's what I made to inspire you:

I love wreaths. I wanted to make a pink Christmas card after seeing so many cards on Pinterest. So I went ahead and made a pink one for you. I hand drew and fuzzy cut the poinsettia (I cut 3 leaves in a layer and used 4 layers for this one). I used my MS pine branch punch to cut out the leaves. All the embellishments are pearls, half pearls and liquid pearl (I had this bottle for almost a year now and finally decided to use it). I used a twine (this one I bought it in India in Itsy Bitsy - almost 2 years ago :D) for the bow. A closer look at the wreath.

I used my border punch to make the fancy lacey border on the white panel. I used a light pink card base for this one, ti match with the wreath.

This is one of the cards for Caring Hearts Card Drive.

Hope you are inspired by this one. Do check out what other DT members have created at the Unstampabelles blog. You are sure to get inspired to make something!!

Starry Night Nativity

Hello everyone!! You might already know that I'm one of the guest designers for Fairy Tale Challenge Blog for this quarter. I'm so excited to be working with the team. It's time for a new challenge and our theme is to use starry sky or cosmos.

Right now, I'm on Christmas mode and here's what I created :)

I inked a piece of white cardstock with DI Tumbled glass, Weathered wood, Iced Spruce, Black soot and another blue ink. I hand drew all the stars - some were embossed with Zing silver embossing powder and for some I used silver glitter gel pen. For the star pointing to the manger, I drew a bigger star on a piece of paper, fuzzy cut it and embossed it with silver embossing powder.

I was planning to cut the manger silhouette on my Cricut, but my laptop is not working once again :(. So I had to hand draw and cut it. I used a white tissue paper as a backing for the silhouette and used DI Squeezed lemon for the halo and some light. The sentiment is from Sweet n Sassy Christmas Penguins stamp set. I embossed it with the same silver embossing powder.

Thanks for stopping by. Please forgive me for the image quality. My laptop is still not working and I'm using my husband's for posting this. I tried to use some online image editing software which I'm new to, so it's taking me some time to learn it. Also, my comments on your blogs may be in a small sentence. I do love to leave large comments, but typing on my mobile is definitely not something I enjoy :) Thank you so much for understanding.

Be Content

Hello everyone!! I'm very excited to be the guest designer at Word Art Wednesday this month! This is my first challenge as a guest designer with them. I'm very excited as this is one of my all time favorite challenges :) The word art/ scripture verse for this week is from Hebrews 13:5.

Here's what I've made for this challenge:

I printed out the word art on a white paper. I cut out the frame using an SVG file from Bird's cards on my Cricut. I sponged word art with VersaMagic Pink Petunia chalk ink. I inlaid the word art in the frame and applied glossy accents on the frame. I cut a piece of pattern paper from the Colorbok Delilah stack. I used brown card base to go with the patterned paper. The ribbon, brad and flowers are from my stash.

I love this week's verse. It reminds me to be content with what I have and trust in God. I need that reminder from time to time. So I've planned to use this as a reminder on my craft table.

Please forgive the quality of the photo. Nowadays it gets dark by 5 PM here and I'm having trouble getting the picture during day. What light sources do you use for taking pictures? Please let me know.

I stamped the snowflakes from ODBD Snowflake mini set and embossed them with Stampenduous Blue tinsel, Zing silver, Wow! clear gloss and Wow! opaque white on a piece of white card stock. I then sponged DI Tumbled glass on to it.

I stamped the 'Have yourself a Merry little Christmas' tag from the Whimsy Stamp Christmas mini gift tags set and embossed it with the Stampenduous blue tinsel embossing powder. Vintage Flowers

Hello everyone!! It's time for a new challenge at Unstampabelles. Out theme this month is Anything Goes with a twist to add flowers.

Here's what I made to inspire you.

I used a light brown, almost kraft card base. The corner swirls were cut using The Swirly corners cut file from Bird's Cards. I cut it on white card stock and sponged it lightly with DI old paper. Love the vintage look it gives.

The flowers are handmade. I used a file in my Cricut design space to cut the flowers on white paper and colored it using VersaMagic Pink Petunia and Malted Mauve chalk inks. I do not have the tools for shaping the flowers, so I used my water color brushes which had rounded handles. I used champagne colored rhinestones for the flower centers, to go with the vintage look. The leaves are cut with the Branches cut file by Bird's cards.

My Favorite Unity Blog hop

Hello everyone! Welcome to Unity Stamps Favorite stamp kit blog hop. I was the Growing in Unity girl this past week. Today, all the GIU girls of September and October are having a fun hop with their favorite Unity Stamp kit. You must have come from Amber Sheaves. If not, here's the hop order.

Let's get on to my card. I chose the Always Begin Again - KOTM 3/15. I chose this mainly because of the image of the girl :)

Here's my card:

I used the image of the girl and colored her with my marker. I love this image!! Her subtle smile, her flowing hair appealed to me. My coloring is not very good. This is the first image with skin tone that I've attempted to color. I did a trial version. Those of you following me on Instagram might have seen it. I couldn't resist adding a chain :D. I thought of adding pearls, but didn't have any that matched her dress. So I drew dots with the same marker and covered it with glossy accents. I used glossy accents for her hair band as well.

The sentiment is also from the same set. I used the same marker to ink the stamp. I used my punch to make the border. I didn't have a matching ribbon. So I used my marker to color a white ribbon :)

Hope you enjoyed today's hop. Oh! and there are prizes too. Two lucky people will be chosen from among those who leave comments on our blogs and they will win a Unity Grab Bag of 25 stamps each! Winners will be announced on Unity blog.

Thanks for stopping by. Please leave your thoughts and comments. Thanks for your comments on my GIU posts. I enjoyed reading them. I will announce my winners of the GIU posts on Monday.
