Azaleas Thank You

Hello everyone!! A quick post to share a card that I made recently.

I stamped the 'Thank You' from the Unity Stamps' Basically Said stamp set in the center of a white cardstock. Then I stamped the small azalea stamp from Power Poppy Stamps' Azalea stamp set repeatedly around it. I colored it with copics. I matted it on black card base to give a nice black border.

Pink Azaleas

Hello everyone!! A quick post to share a card that I made recently. I recently decided to create a new Instagram account for my crafts. It's under the name moxiecraftie. Please do follow me if you on Instagram.

If you are following me on Instagram, you might have seen that I recently decided to take a plunge and bought some Copic markers and I'm loving them!! I couldn't wait to try them!!

I used the Power Poppy Stamps' Azalea stamp set and colored it with my new copic markers. This is one of my favorite stamp companies. Marcella is a very talented illustrator and her images are absolutely stunning!! Recently I came to know that this stamp set is the first one that she designed!! This is my second trial with the copic markers (I colored a tiny butterfly first :) ) and I'm totally satisfied with how my coloring has turned out!! I mounted the panel on a pink card base. I added the swirly corners (cut with my Cricut using SVG files from Bird's cards) and a few rhinestones.

GIU Day 4 - Unity Girl

Hello everyone!! Welcome to day 4 of my Growing in Unity!! This week, till Friday, I will be sharing projects that I made with Unity Stamps. Thank you so much for the lovely comments on my other GIU posts. Let's get on to the project for today.

I stamped the girl stamp from Unity Stamps' Always Begin Again stamp set on watercolor paper. I used distress inks Tattered Rose (for skin), Black Soot (for hair) and Peacock Feathers to watercolor the image. I love adding jewelry to this image. (You can see the card that I made for last year's Unity GIU Blog Hop, using this image, here.) I added Nuvo pale gold drops for her necklace, earrings and her hairband. Like I had said already, I love the Peacock Feathers color.

GIU Day 3 - Shabby Chic

Hello everyone!! Welcome to day 3 of my Growing in Unity!! This week, till Friday, I will be sharing projects that I made with Unity Stamps. Thank you so much for the lovely comments on my first two posts. Let's get on to the project for today.

People who follow my blog on a regular basis know that I create clean and simple cards most of the time. But I do love the look and cards with lots of layers and different folds, decked with flowers and other embellishments! There are a lot of different things on my to-do list. Criss-cross cards has been on that list for a long time. I finally decided to check that off my list. Also, I wanted to make a shabby chic card for a long time. I guess this qualifies as shabby chic.

I used a dark brown card stock for base. I recently bought a pack of paper napkins from Dollar Tree that had a Paris inspired design on a script background. I bought it with dreams of using it on a big decoupage project. But, as always, I haven't done anything with it yet. I decided to use it for the diagonal panels because it matched with the script background of the stamp I was planning to use. I cut card stock panels first and used mod podge to glue the napkin to it. I sponged the edges with distress ink Gathered Twigs.

I used the stamp from Unity Stamps' Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful and embossed it with brown embossing powder. I sponged the panel with distress ink Old Paper and colored the flowers with Seedless Preserves.

I used a punched butterfly and sponged it with distress ink Seedless Preserves and used Nuvo pale gold pearl drops on it. The flowers are handmade. I used a 5 petal flower punch and sponged it with Seedless Preserves. I shaped it and used some pollen from my stash.

For the pull-out panel, I decided to recycle a package backing from Itsy Bitsy embellishment pack that I had bought more than 2 years. I couldn't bring myself to throw it out. I matted it with brown card stock and punched out the border.

Here's the original packaging:
